180 Degree Rule
The 180 degree rule is when you film a scene where it is important that everything is in the same position in the shot and the 180 degree angle allows them to do make sure this happens. Effectively, if you break the 180 degree rule it can make a conversation look bad due to the characters not appearing to be looking at each other. However the rule can be broken for effect but it must be used in the correct way to work well. You must understand the rule thoroughly in order to use it well.
Continuity
This is the maintenance of of the props or characters in a scene ensuring that there is no change in the look of the scene or the character when filming multiple shots. You could avoid continuity errors during scenes by taking pictures of your characters and the scene to make sure that the next time you film everything is positioned correctly and everyone looks how they did in the previous scene.

Blood rush Preliminary Task (good)
When making this short video, we were focusing on not breaking the 180 degree rule (shown above) and continuity. We were told to create a small clip with a exchange in conversation, using over the shoulder shots of each character as they spoke. The aim of this task was to be able to make a flowing conversation through using multiple different camera angles. This task was to show a good use of the 180 degree rule and good continuity. We avoided having continuity errors in this scene through analysing the scene and characters before shotting the next segment of the film.

Blood Rush preliminary task (bad)
In this preliminary task our aim was to provide a short film which broke the 180 degree rule and had bad continuity. We have done this through the use of the over the shoulder shots where we have gone from the different sides as well as having continuity errors through the hood coming on in one scene whereas in the other scenes it is down.
