Do's and dont's of filming
Do's Provide a variety of different shots and angles to show which character has the power during the scene. Always plan the piece of media you are producing, this helps you have a rough idea about the kind of camera angles you want to use when filming. Specify the audience that the media is targeted at so that you know what you can and cannot include in the film. Use a tripod where possible because it gives you a smoother looking shot. Use special effects so that it gives your film a more epic feel, also when using special effects you can cause the audience to feel a certain way. Use appropriate props for the scene to set the scene in a film. For example if it's a horror film you may consider using a murder weapon or a scary mask to make the audience fearful. Use appropriate actors for the character being portrayed as if you have an actor that doesn't suit the role then the film will not look as good as if the actor was commonly in a certain kind of role. Use sound effects to provide a certain atmosphere depending on the scene. For example in an action you would have a lot of loud sound effects to raise the tempo of the scene. Define your genre so that you can keep your piece of media to it Dont's Don't go out of character when filming otherwise the film will look unprofessional. If you go out of character film the scene again. Don't use too many special effects so it still looks professional. For example don't over use the special effects as if you do it could look very unrealistic. Don't make continuity errors in the film as if you do it will look unprofessional and won't flow well especially if there is an error during a conversation. Don't zoom in while filming, because it can cause your shot to look unprofessional, it is better to not zoom, and cut to an extreme close up on the object or person. |
